I’m looking to get a tattoo of a bow on my inner left wrist of about 1.5 x 1.5 inches. I’ve drawn the exact image I want but its really just a plain sketch; its not coloured in or shaded. This would be my first tattoo so I have no experience of how this works – do I need to get the design drawn out for me by a tattoo artist before I go to the studio, or would a tattooist be able to do it for me? I’ve found websites where you can pay designers to help you with your custom tattoo project, but is that really necessary? Thanks.

normally the tatoo artist that is going 2 tatoo u usually they know how to draw things out and will do it for the customers.
why do it on your wrist? it’s a really sensitive area, and if you get sick of it, there’s no going back. I’d suggest something on your ankle of lower back- i have a tree.
Tattoo artists really are artists, not just technicicans. Take your sketch to your artist and explain, clearly, what you want in terms of colour and shading, and they’ll be able to draw it up for you, and help you make any minor alterations that might to make your ideas work better as a tattoo. There’s no point paying someone else to do this for you; it really isn’t necessary.
Hope this helps – have fun getting tattooed!
i do thinks its nessasary because the tattooist may not know how to freehand a tattoo that u have drawn
Nope if you got to a commendable and Dedicated shop(the one you’ve actually heard of in your City) a Tattoo artist will be MORE than happy to help you draw it out and make it in the style that you would like, and also make suggestions on how they think it might look even cooler
most tat artists SHOULD be that… ARTISTS. they should be able to do it… or else in my opinion they shouldn’t be allowed to be inking ppl if they can’t draw worth a crap.
find a good tat shop that has portfolios where they tats have details and ask them to draw something up for you.
The tattoo artist has to draw it on their parafilm paper to kinda of put this outline on your skin first. Go into a local tattoo shop and talk to one of the artists there. Usually they can help draw/design the tattoo.. it’s what they get paid for! Work with them and I’m sure you’ll get it perfect! Good luck
