Question by Rocket Queen: Best place for a tattoo on a woman?
I’m planning on getting a tattoo soon – roughly circle shaped (a celtic design of some sort, incorporating a yin yan sign) and around 4 – 5 cm across. I was planning on getting it on the bottom of my back, but I’m not sure that design would look good there – and tattoos there seem to have a stigma of being ‘trampy’. I like the idea of the top of my back inbetween my shoulders, but I’m pretty sure that’s gonna hurt alot. I’m putting alot of thought into this as I don’t want to regret it in the future – any help will be much appreciated

Back tattoos are called Tramp Stamps. All other tattoos are just trampy…/
if you want it between your shoulders than thats where you should get it. dont let the pain scare you or thats what you are going to end up regretting about your tat later on, you are gunna wish you got it there instead. and anyways, from personal experience, the pain is never as bad as you think its going to be. in fact for me, i have tats across my entire upper back/shoulders and thats the one that hurt the least, i didnt feel pain at all.
the bottom part of your neck, inside of your arm about 2 inches up from your wrist, around your ankle, the back of your shoulder
tattoos are NOT trampy. they are very personal, however. no matter where you decide to get ur tatt, it will hurt, no matter how “bad” you or others think they are. like i said, tatts are personal, and i dont think anyone on answers could give you such personal ideas. think it through, and be prepaired for pain. it will only hurt once, but it will hurt bad. then it will feel like a sunburn.
good luck!
it’s the person that makes the tattoo
the tattoo doesn’t make the person
if you think the design is best on your lower back get it there.
you can have the artist put the outline on a few places of your body to see what fits best for you
i have tattoos on my foot, ankle, thigh, top of shoulder and back of my shoulder
Its really your choice where you want it. Covering a tattoo is easy if you need to so thats no problem. Now I had a butterfly put on my shoulder and since they swell and puff up during the tattooing, the pain was intense because it had spread to my shoulder bone and some of the middle of my back. If you arent that great with pain you may want to choose a different spot lol.
I dont know who made up the “back tats are trampy” thing. Whoever they are, they need to be slapped because thats completely bogus. I’m sure you wont regret it because you’ve put alot of time and effort into this. You’re not going out drunk and getting some guys name on ur face that you dont even know lol.
Don’t worry about the pain. The pain is only temporary. No matter where you get it, it will hurt. But it is just for the time. The pain is totally worth it when it is done. So get it where you really want it and don’t think about the pain. What hurts one person may not hurt the next or hurt them more. So it is really hard to say what is going to hurt more or less so don’t worry about it. Just do it. I am really glad your putting alot of thought into, there are way to many people who don’t put nearly enough though into and regret it. You know inside where you really want to put it, so put it there!
Personally, I like “tramp stamps” I love how easily you can hide them or show them off depending on what you want.
But – based on what you described I think that would look best on your upper back between your shoulder blades.
